Snowdonia is a walkers paradise. The
mountains above the cottage are magnificent and offer a variety of walks
of varying difficulty. A short drive away are the more well trodden
peaks of Snowdon and Cader Idris.
Harlech has it’s famous castle of course as
well as a world renowned 18 hole links golf course. The burial chambers
in the village date back much earlier and are well worth a visit.
There’s an excellent pony trekking school in Dolgellau, a nearby market
town.
The white water canoeing and rafting centre at Tryweryn nearby is the
largest of its kind in the UK. It offers courses for the complete
beginner as well as hosting world championship events. Other sports
growing in popularity include kite surfing, sea kayaking and
paragliding.
Basically there are to many things to mention but the list
below is intended to offer some options for the active among you.
You could of course just relax with a good book and a glass of
wine now that you're getting away from it all.
